George Clement papers, 1863-1878 (bulk 1863-1867).

Financial papers include receipts for payments for the burials of Angelina Clement and the infant Odelia, bills for freight on coffee and flour carried by the steamer "Henry Tete" to Clement Landing, Lafourche Parish (1876). Legal papers include a court summons issued to George Clement by E. E. LeBlanc, Deputy Clerk (1866), and a proposition submitted to G. J. Clement and Henry Thibodaux by Clotain Bernard, S. Dugas, J. B. Mire, J. Guillot, V. E. Bernard, L. Bernard, and E. Morvant (n.d.). Personal papers include a prayer for mercy during a cholera epidemic, a remedies for dysentery and rheumatism, formulas for making an ointment and a tonic, recipes for cakes, biscuits, bread, and tomato catsup. A time book (1878) records hours worked by agricultural laborers.
